List of 3 large pension funds in the Netherlands
In the following, we are highlighting three major Dutch pension funds that are part of our list.
1. Stichting Pensioenfonds ABP
The “Stichting Pensioenfonds ABP” pension fund is the largest Dutch and European pension fund. The fund manages the retirement money of civil servants in the Netherlands. In 2023, the assets under management are exceeding €500BN.
Update 2024: In 2023, the Dutch pension fund Stichting Pensioenfonds ABP acquired Kentner, a Dutch energy infrastructure solutions company, together with OMERS.
2. Stichting Pensioenfonds Zorg en Welzijn
The “Stichting Pensioenfonds Zorg en Welzijn” pension fund is often abbreviated as PFZW. The fund manages more than €250BN. The investments of the fund are managed i-house. The private equity investments of PFZW and ABP are managed through AlpInvest Partners. The fund is also actively managing in real estate.
3. MN
Another major Dutch pension fund is called “MN”. As of 2023, the fund manages more than €75BN. The fund runs a strategic investment framework and is an active investor and asset manager.
