This document presents a concise assessment of the global private equity investor database. Using our keyword keyword crawler tool, our team identified investors whose websites contain language related to buy-and-build strategies. From this, we have produced a detailed Excel spreadsheet designed to effectively pinpoint relevant investors within the buy-and-build space.
In France, as in other regions, buy-and-build strategies involve a private equity firm acquiring a platform company and then expanding it through subsequent add-on acquisitions. This strategy is used to consolidate fragmented markets, grow a business rapidly, and achieve economies of scale.
In this article, we are introducing three interesting buy-and-build-focused private equity funds from our keyword crawler-based buy-and-build-private equity investors list.
1. CICLAD (Paris)
Ciclad is a private equity firm based in Paris that has been active for over 30 years. Since its inception, the firm has made 172 investments and specializes in supporting the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises in France and abroad. Ciclad has been involved in several buy-and-build transactions. For instance, they backed Alexandre Pébereau and Tofane’s buy-and-build initiative, which involved acquiring DIMOCO Messaging as the seventh purchase in the project.
2. MBO+ (Paris)
MBO+ is a Paris-based investment platform that focuses on building future-proof companies by deeply researching sectors and focusing on business models with strong value propositions and growth potential. One of their significant investments is in Praxedo, a prominent SaaS company in Field Service Management. Praxedo, established in 2005 and based in France, provides sophisticated software solutions for Field Service Management and has a substantial presence in Europe and North America. The investment in Praxedo aligns with MBO+’s focus on growth and transformation projects, supporting ambitious managers in executing their expansion strategies.
3. Siparex (Paris)
Siparex is a French private equity firm that manages over €3.6 billion in assets. They specialize in investing in growth-oriented SMEs with a turnover of up to €500 million, primarily in France, Belgium, and neighboring countries. The strategy revolves around buy-and-build and growth, often taking a majority position or becoming a leading shareholder. The company is sector-agnostic and supports growth, acquisitions, refinancings, and restructuring across all business sectors.
