This document presents a concise assessment of the global private equity investor database. Our team used a keyword tracking tool to identify investors whose websites contain language related to buy-and-build strategies. From this, we have produced a detailed Excel sheet designed to effectively pinpoint relevant investors within the buy-and-build space.
Buy-and-build strategies involve a private equity firm acquiring a platform company and then expanding it through subsequent add-on acquisitions. This strategy is used to consolidate fragmented markets, grow a business rapidly, and achieve economies of scale.
In this article, we are introducing three interesting buy-and-build-focused private equity funds from our keyword crawler-based buy-and-build-private equity investors list.
1. Active Capital Company (Amsterdam)
Active Capital Company, based in Amsterdam, Netherlands, invests in small and medium-sized companies. Their target companies are usually those with revenues between €10M and €100M, operating in the industrial goods and services and wholesale sectors. Active Capital Company’s investment approach includes buy-outs, growth, succession planning, transformation, challenging financial situations, and carve-outs. They typically take a controlling stake in their investments and are flexible in deal and capital structure. 2. Capital-A (Amsterdam)
Capital A is an investment firm that focuses on companies in the Netherlands and Belgium. It was founded in 1982 as part of ABN AMRO and became independent in 2018. The firm’s strategy includes supporting entrepreneurs who want to grow their business organically or through buy-and-build strategies. Capital A is a committed shareholder that empowers management. The company provides access to a large network that complements that of entrepreneurs. Capital A also provides financial and strategic expertise and can offer hands-on M&A support.
3. Nordian Capital Partners (Amsterdam)
Nordian Capital Partners is a private equity firm based in Amsterdam that has been involved in various transactions, including buy-and-build strategies. Such as in July 2022, when Nordian Capital Partners acquired MYLAPS, an internet software and services company. MYLAPS is renowned for its support of athletes and racers, event management, and provision of time measurement and performance data for over 20 million athletes globally each year. This acquisition marked Nordian’s first in the Internet Software and Services sector and was their 26th transaction in the Netherlands.
