The resulting comprehensive Excel spreadsheet enables focused targeting of relevant investors within the food sector.

In Norway, the seafood industry stands out as a significant sector in the food industry, particularly in terms of investment. Since 2007, the county of Viken has seen more than a doubling of investments in the food industry.
In this article, we are introducing three interesting food-focused private equity funds from our keyword crawler-based food private equity investors list.

1. Herkules Capital (Oslo)

Herkules Capital, a distinguished private equity firm located in Oslo, Norway, is recognized for its concentration on investment in the Nordic region, particularly in Norway. The firm has accumulated funds of approximately NOK 15 billion and invests mostly in well-grounded enterprises with potent growth potential, acquiring majority interests. Herkules Capital has significantly invested in the food sector. One investment was made in Estrella Maarud, a manufacturer and marketer of salted snacks in the Nordic and Baltic regions. This company had majority ownership under Herkules Private Equity Fund II and boasts a robust market position with diverse salted snack offerings.

2. Norvestor (Oslo)

Norvestor is a reputable private equity company located in Oslo, with a substantial foothold in the Nordic area. Founded in 1989, the firm has been operating for more than 30 years, collaborating with Nordic businesses to encourage growth and long-term profitability. Norvestor maintains a well-diversified portfolio of investments. According to recent data, they have completed 83 control investments, finalized 59 exits, and participated in 16 IPOs. The company’s investment focus spans a broad range of sectors, encompassing engineering, technology, food and drink, the consumer market, and other areas.

3. Longship AS (Oslo)

Longship AS, headquartered in Oslo, is a private equity firm that was established in 2015. Its investment focus is on small and medium-sized growth companies in Norway, primarily targeting sectors including industrial, technology, leisure and lifestyle, welfare services, cleantech, restaurants, and information technology services. Longship AS has been involved in multiple ventures within the food sector. The investment portfolio comprises Akershusgruppen, a distinguished restaurant and bar group with multiple venues centered in and around Oslo City.
