The article presents findings from an investigation based on a worldwide database of private equity investors. By using a keyword crawler, the database categorized infrastructure-related terminologies and identified private equity investors whose websites included them. The ensuing Excel sheet provides a list of relevant investors in this area, which can serve as a guide for identifying and engaging with them.
Norway prioritizes sustainable and eco-friendly infrastructure, including investment in public transport and renewable energy sources such as hydroelectric power. Additionally, Norway develops smart solutions for urban living that integrate technology to enhance environmental sustainability.
In this article, we are introducing three interesting infrastructure-focused private equity funds from our keyword crawler-based infrastructure private equity investors list.
1. HitechVision (Stavanger)
HitecVision is a private equity firm that mainly invests in the European energy industry. Their investments focus on expanding energy producers, infrastructure owners, and specialized service providers. They are especially keen to identify businesses that could contribute to the energy transition. Sval Energi, a company with the goal of creating a varied asset base in the energy sector, is among HitecVision’s notable investments in Stavanger, Norway. Gassled, an offshore gas transmission system, along with the Polar-led pipeline is owned by Sval Energi. This endeavor showcases HitecVision’s commitment to supporting the energy transition and curbing the industry’s carbon footprint.
2. Longship AS (Oslo)
Longship operates as a private equity firm that concentrates on making long-term investments in small to medium-sized Norwegian businesses. Longship co-invests with prior owners, management, or staff members, and intends to acquire majority ownership stakes. Recently, Longship invested in HRP, a prominent consultancy services provider operating in the building, property, and infrastructure sector in Norway. In 2021, the portfolio company was divested to Broviken AB. Furthermore, Longship has garnered prior experience investing in a range of industries, such as seawater desalination technology, event and entertainment industry services, medical imaging, and logistics services within the Nordics.
3. Herkules Capital (Oslo)
Hercules is widely recognized as a top Norwegian private equity firm that invests in Nordic, predominantly Norwegian companies. Over the years, the investment company has launched four funds that focus on energy, industrial technology, services, consumer goods and retail, and healthcare and pharmaceuticals. These funds have been established since 2004. Furthermore, the company has carried out nearly a hundred transactions since its establishment, which encompasses thirty-six platform investments. Out of these transactions, thirty-two have been successfully executed.
